App Turns iPhone into a Credit Card Terminal
Source:
All About Jazz
As if phones didn't already do enough, one of the latest mobile apps transforms iPhones and iPod Touches into portable charge card terminals.
ProcessAway plugs into Authorize.net's payment processing platform, allowing entrepreneurs to accept credit card payments anywhere they can access the internet. After downloading the app and (separately) setting up a merchant account with Authorize.net, clients can use ProcessAway like a traditional charge card terminal: enter the amount, input the card number, expiry date and verification code, and process. ...

In previous WWDC events, Apple has announced new products during a keynote presentation that kicks off ...

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Doesn't Believe in Privacy
Source:
All About Jazz
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg appears to have been outed as not caring one whit about your privacy a jarring admission, considering how much of our personal data Facebook owns, not to mention its plans to become the webs central repository for our preferences and predilections. Also interesting is how this came about: Not in a proper article, but in a tweet by Nick Bilton, lead technology blogger for the The New York Times Bits Blog, based on a conversation he ...

Biomechanical Mike Stand Gets a Gleaming Grip
Source:
All About Jazz
A biomechanical arm built out of found objects and stainless steel rods served as inspiration for one of the world's weirdest microphone stands. Artist Chris Conte created the gleaming, sci-fi-looking mike holder for Adam Gontier, lead singer of Three Days Grace. Gontier found photos of Conte's original artwork online and inquired about a custom piece of gear based on the arm. When he asked me over the phone if it can be done, I was like, 'Hell yeah, it can ...

Source:
Michael Ricci
Sometimes, especially when we're down on our luck and looking at all the money we've wasted on frivolous gadgets, we might ask what would have happened if we had invested. Web developer Kyle Conroy provides an easy-to-read spreadsheet to illustrate how shortsighted we all were. It's called What If I Had Bought Apple Stock Instead? There's probably no better company to play this game with because, as The Times pointed out last week, There's no stopping Apple -- or its ...

An Apple engineer loses a top-secret prototype and a tech blogger ends up purchasing it from the finder. Who deserves our support?
So an Apple engineer walks into a beer garden....
A story that begins like that should have at least a little potential.
Especially when you learn that, in said beer garden, the young software engineer loses a top-secret prototype of a next-generation iPhone. A stranger finds the phone. The stranger sells the phone to a tech blogger for ...

All About Jazz
JH Audio JH5 Pro Their custom fit and complex circuits mean that music never sounded so good. Seriously. Price: $400 There was a time not too long ago when you could walk down the street without seeing white, brightly colored or bedazzled earbuds jammed into everyone's ears.
