The wake took place at the Merrick First Baptist Church, in South Jamaica, Queens, New York on Thursday, February 19th, 2004. Saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus Passes Away at 58

Saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus, a former member of the Doobie Brothers who has performed with Steely Dan since 1993, died Tuesday en route to a series of performances in California. He was 58. Bumpus had a heart attack on a commercial flight from New York, said his friend, Rod Harris, an organizer of the Columbia College Jazz Concert Series, where Bumpus was to perform this week. We regret to announce that Frank Mantooth passed away on January 30, 2004.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 3 at St. Mary's Catholic Chruch in Garden City, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at the Okmulgee Cemetary in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 5 at 11 a.m. (tentative).
