It is with great sadness we that note the passing of Boosey & Hawkes composer and jazz pianist Andrew Hill. Hill died Friday, April 20, 2007 several years after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He was 75 years old and lived in Jersey City, NJ. The funeral will be open to the public at Trinity Church (89 Broadway at Wall Street) this Friday, April 27, at 2:00 pm. Dakota Staton, a highly respected jazz and blues singer known from the 1950s on for her bright, trumpetlike sound and tough, sassy style, died on Tuesday in Manhattan. She was 76 and had lived in New York for many years. Sharynn Harper, a spokeswoman for Ms. Staton's family, confirmed the death, citing no specific cause. Tony Scott Dies at 85

American legendary jazz musician Tony Scott died peacefully in Rome, Italy on the 28th of March at 9pm from aggravations from a prostrate tumor condition. He was 85 years old.
His funeral took place on Saturday March 31st at 5pm in Rome at the 'Chiesa degli Artisti' with music performed by friend Harold Bradley and daughter Monica Sciacca amongst other musician friends. His body will repose in Salemi (Sicily).

The clarinetist Tony Scott died on March 28th in Rome, Italy, at the age of 86. The cause was prostate cancer. He died at his home in Rome.
The memorial service will be 5pm tomorrow (Rome time) at the church of the artists. Then the body will be flown to Sicily, the family ancestral home (Scott's family name was Sciacca).
