Los Angeles Music Academy College of Music, that partnered recently with jazz vocalist Al Jarreau to offer a vocal scholarship in his name, today announced Ethiopia's Nefthalem Mulat was the first student to be awarded the prestigious scholarship. Jarreau, a seven-time Grammy Award winning jazz vocalist, provides one scholarship per semester to attend LA Music Academy; Nefthalem beat out scores of other applicants.
