Herb Alpert and Lani Hall will receive the 18th Ella Award from the Society of Singers, a non-profit organization that benefits the health and welfare of professional singers.

Arturo O'Farrill, director of the Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra, received a Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album for Song for Chico performed by Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, Zoho Music (2008).
