On Tuesday, Dave Brubeck was inducted into the California Hall of Fame along with eleven others including actors Jane Fonda and Jack Nicholson, fitness maven Jack LaLanne, musician and producer Quincy Jones, chef Alice Waters and -- posthumously -- Theodore Geiss (Dr. Seuss), scientist Linus Pauling, architect Julia Morgan, and Dorothea Lange, the photographer best known for documenting the human toll of the Great Depression. Clint Eastwood is riding high. Giving a first time screen writer a boost, in June green lighting Gran Torino, then beginning shooting in July. The film just released and this morning Eastwood was nominated for Best Song for the film as well as Best Original Score for his motion picture soundtrack the Changeling.

Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Miley Cyrus and Beyonce Knowles are among the music-related nominees for the 2009 Golden Globe awards. The ceremony will be broadcast live Jan. 11 on NBC.
