ROY HAYNES RECEIVED GEORGE PEABODY MEDAL Legendary drummer and bandleader Roy Haynes received the George Peabody Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Music in America on May 24 at graduation ceremonies for the Peabody Conservatory, the highly regarded music school of The Johns Hopkins University. Jazz drummer and Peabody faculty artist Nasar Abadey (right) interviewed Haynes (left) at graduation.
