The JOE COHN / HARRY ALLEN Trio COOKING IN HELL'S KITCHEN

EACH MONDAY 8-11:00pm Starting Nov. 24

@ ZUNI, 9TH AVE AT 43RD ST. 212.765.7626

EVERY MONDAY beginning November 24, sublime saxophonist HARRY ALLEN will permanently join the long-running JOE COHN Trio, with JOEL FORBES on acoustic bass. Unannounced guest musicians add to these swinging weekly sessions. No microphones, no stage, NO COVER CHARGE, just intimate music.

JOE COHN, described in JazzTimes as “a brilliant musician ... one of the really great ones," is son of the late, ground-breaking saxophonist and arranger Al Cohn.

HARRY ALLEN's tenor saxophone style draws on the influences of Al Cohn, Stan Getz, Lester Young and more, blending perfectly with Forbes' bass and Cohn's guitar. Hear this lock-step harmony on “The Harry Allen Quartet" CD recorded this spring at Nola Studios with this trio plus drums. Visit www.harryallenjazz.com for more on this young tenor master.

Sets start at 8:00 p.m. & 10:00 p.m. Reserve if you want a table near the music Mondays at 212.765.7626, ZUNI, 598 9th Avenue at 43rd St. Excellent, affordable full menu available. No cover charge. # # # Russ Dantzler Hot Jazz Management & Production [email protected] 212.563.3551
