Hard Workin' Jazz This Sunday on Freedom Jazz Dance
5 - 7 PM Sunday
WDCE 90.1 FM
804-289-UR90 Studio
Rest your weary bones and let FJD do the work this Labor Day weekend. Get in the groove with Freedom Jazz Dance, modern jazz from bebop to freebop and beyond, this Sunday on 90.1 FM WDCE, live from the beautiful campus of the University of Richmond.
This week I'll be punchin' the time clock and droppin' the needle down with choice platters from the trumpet great Nat Adderley, the Andy Sherrer Quartet, Benny Carter, John Coltrane and Andre Previn. Feel free to call in at 804-289-UR90 to give your trash-or-treasure vote during my notorious Records From Aunt Ruth segment and compare jazz compositions during the FJD exclusive Two Of A Kind segment.

Visit the Freedom Jazz Dance web site today. The most recent FJD is uploaded in its entirety with prime cuts from The Stryker/Slagle Band, Chico Hamilton and the latest Records From Aunt Ruth entry. My Max Roach Tribute is still uploaded as well, for those of you still honoring the great jazz drummer in your hearts and in your minds. Just double click on the radio blog file. I'd love to hear your take on new releases, cool gigs and your favorite players. Google gmail account not required for listening, but required for blogging.
