The Hank Jones Trio will appear at the Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival on August 14 at 8:00 pm at The Farmers' Museum, Lake Road, Cooperstown. Jones, who celebrates his 86th birthday on July 31, has toured in Europe, Japan, and throughout the U.S. this year. Linda Chesis, artistic director of the Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival, says," It is very appropriate for a town that celebrates the careers and legacies of Hall of Famers to embrace the rich legacy of Hank Jones and the magic of his music. Though he excelled in jazz instead of baseball, he is every bit a national treasure."
Jones has performed with Benny Goodman, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, and many more. He is a member of the International Jazz Hall of Fame.
