The famous Lenox Lounge Jazz Club located at 288 Lenox Avenue (Between 124th and 125th Streets) and Jazzbone Records presents the “Incomparable" Hank Johnson Trio on Friday, July 9th, 2004 and on Saturday, July 10th, 2004 - 3 shows 9:00P.M. - 10:30 P.M. and 12:00 Midnight. The trio features “Cool Mike" Fitzbenjamin on bass and Gary Smith on drums. Hank Johnson on piano (acoustic grand piano). Because of the packed house reservations are advised or suggested. Please call club at (212) 427-0253, and reserve early. This unique and upcoming jazz trio plays standards, originals, and has clearly demonstrated the ability to swing hard, in the pocket! Hank's influences include Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum, Erroll Garner, Teddy Wilson, Hank Edmonds, Horace Parlan. While not exactly a household name yet, the trio makes some fine music worth listening to. The Lenox Lounge has wonderful soul food, and fine beverages, and is “the place" where jazz greets the world in New York!
