In speaking about the recording, Terry has said, Blue In Green is one of my favorite recordings and one in which I feel accurately represented. The equality of each contributing musician makes for a trio with a very unified voice. Playing with David and Joe is always a special treat."
David Goldblatt contributes an unusually warm and spacious harmonic environment for the trio. The landscape created on Blue In Green leaves one feeling as though they have not only extended the dark moody flavors of Miles Davis' Kind Of Blue recording, but have revisited that room from a newly discovered doorway.
Joe LaBarbera of The Bill Evans Trio fame, provides one of his finest recordings in recent years. In addition to his relentless sensitivity and tasteful contribution to the moment-to-moment growth of the music, there are three beautifully constructed drum solos. His solo on Beautiful Love" is a rare treat of brush activated drum and cymbal colors.
