Get More Music on Jambase!
We all love to listen to new music, and especially find it handy to hear what a band sounds like before we decide whether to go to a show. We are very pleased to announce that you can now sample full songs, albums and playlists directly through our tens of thousands of artist pages on JamBase!

We've made the music available for listening and purchase using Lala widgets on our artist pages. Lala is a digital music store with a catalog of more than 6 million songs spanning all major record labels, thousands of independent artists and musical genres.
The way it works is that you can listen to songs once for free. If you play a song again, you'll just hear a 30 second sample. To add a song to your Lala collection and play it whenever you want and from any computer or web browser, it only costs 10 cents per song. If you want to download the song to your iTunes or iPod, it's only 79 cents more for a grand total of 89 cents, which is less than most other stores. Lala makes it super easy to set-up your music wallet and build your collection.
To celebrate our new sampling experience, JamBase is holding an end of year contest where you can win a $100 free music credit on Lala. To enter, simply create a playlist of your favorite songs from this past year on Lala.
Once you've got your perfect 2008 soundtrack, embed the playlist in a new JamBase Journal post while also explaining a little bit about the song selection and why you were inspired to include the songs you did, or what story your playlist tells.
To create a playlist:
- 1. Click on the music player below to go to Lala and sign-up for a new account.
2. Create a New" playlist through the link on the bottom left of the page.
3. Search for your favorite music on the site and add it to the playlist using the links next to the song.
4. Once you've got it where you want it, click on the Playlist link on the bottom left of the Lala page and then use the Embed" link at the top of the page and copy" the code for the playlist.
5. Head over to JamBase and create a new Journal Entry and simply paste the playlist code into the new journal entry form.
Note for IE Users: You will have to click the HTML" tab at the bottom of the Journal form before pasting the embed code.
6. Add in your own story of how you chose the songs, publish and spread the word!
We've had a blast exploring, testing and playing with Lala over the past few months as we geared up for this announcement and know you'll enjoy discovering new bands and reconnecting with the music you love.
And because we can't pass up a chance to share some of our favorite sounds, we created a Top 10 of 2008 Playlist for you to enjoy right here. Happy Holidays:
