Since then, a dedicated group of artists, reporters, publicists, event planners, graphic designers, fundraisers and many others have worked tirelessly to create a unique event that benefits the arts and long-term rebuilding of the Gulf Coast, and pays tribute to the region's artistic heritage.
FROM THE ART OF NEW YORK, Art Exhibition and Gala for the Gulf, is sponsored by NY1 News, The Bank of New York, and the World Financial Center Arts & Events Program. FROM THE ART OF NEW YORK is a sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts. The exhibition and gala auction include some of the most prominent New York and Gulf Coast artists, including Christo and Jeanne-Claude; Yoko Ono; LeRoy Neiman; Peter Max; Steven Forster; George Rodrigue; Tom Otterness; Kendall Shaw; Danny Simmons; Stuart Davis; Gregory Amenoff; De La Vega; Kiki Smith; Duston Spear; Robert Rauschenberg; Ursula von Rydingsvard and many more.
The one-of-a-kind exhibition, featuring 100 works of art by New York and Gulf Coast artists, is free and open to the public. Visitors may bid on the art work or purchase limited edition posters created by artists De La Vega and Mimi Gross or magnolia pins in honor of the Gulf Coast.

FROM THE ART OF NEW YORK will celebrate the Gulf Coast's rich traditions with a private Mardi Gras Gala, featuring live and silent auctions as well as jazz music and delicious New Orleans-inspired cuisine. Bid on amazing works of art by New York and Gulf Coast artists and fabulous packages from Jazz at Lincoln Center, NY1 News, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, and many more. Tickets to the auction start at $200.
