For the Love of Legendary Carrie L. Smith

A living tribute to lighten a lady's heart. The Norman Simmons Trio, Robert Banks and Charles Banks will be on hand as we let legendary singer Carrie Smith feel the love and appreciation for being a favorite on the music scene for over 60 years. Blues, standards, and gospel were all represented beautifully by this powerful contralto who kept the authentic idiom vibrant with her uniquely bittersweet voice.

For the past two years, Carrie Smith has been privately being care taken at the well-appointed Actors' Fund Home in Englewood, N.J. Several mini strokes and “battle fatigue" have made her require professional care in a facility equipped to handle the responsibility as best they can.

This tribute is not a fund raiser but, rather, a spirit raiser, to let Carrie know her “melody lingers on" in the hearts of those who have known and loved her.
