It was announced by Creative Imagery, Inc. that New York City has been chosen as the host home of the very first Jazz Awards telecast planned for November of 2006.
While few details of the show were revealed, it has been disclosed that the primary award given will be named for a legendary Jazz performer and licensed through that performer's foundation. Additionally, members of the US Congress are backing the show acknowledging that it honors a uniquely American art form.
As more information becomes available, it will be released at the production's official website http://www.jazzawards.com. The Jazz Awards site promises to re-launch on March 28, 2006 with dynamic polling, information on presenters, honorees, the venue, previews of stage settings and more.
