Filling The Jazz Void In Montreal Radio

Long famous for its international jazz festival, Montreal never had great jazz radio. Louche Life Radio plans to change that.

Launched three months ago from a downtown studio, Louche Life internet radio airs full time worldwide via California based server Live365. Primary programming is contemporary vocal jazz, instrumental jazz with a strong narrative, and a sprinkling of Rhythm and Blues.

Though music director Ada Felice wants the station to appeal to a broad audience, she aims to avoid jazz clichés. “Louche Life loves and plays the great artists of all eras, but we also want to find ears for newer and less heard voices.” She added “The Great American Songbook at Louche Life includes both the Americas, and that gives our sound palette lots of scope for adventure.”

Named in homage to Billy Strayhorn’s ‘Lush Life’ and the late nights of jazz players and habitués, Louche Life is dedicated to the effervescent side of jazz.

Says Madame Felice: “Swing, soul, or whatever you call it - that quality is indefinable but unmistakable. To quote Keith Richards: ‘It’s not something you take in the head, it's something you take in the gut.’”

“We play music that raises goose bumps, makes you dance, laugh, cry, or any combination thereof!”

You can connect with the Louche Life groove from anywhere on earth Louche Life Radio Dedicate a browser window for listening or download the Live365 applications for desktop and pad/pod/smart phone, and keep your ears peeled!
