Featuring WORLD MUSIC 5
Formed in 2002, Negroni's Trio, led by pianist Jose with his son, Nomar, on drums (who studied at the Berklee College of Music) has burned a path to the top of the national Latin Jazz scene. Their second release, Piano/Drums/Bass," was nominated for a Latin Jazz Grammy in 2005. Since then the band has traveled the world playing Sardinia, Spain, Indonesia and Puerto Rico. They've performed at national Jazz clubs such as the Blue Note in New York, Blues Alley in D.C. and Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago. The Trio's latest recording is Just Three" on Mojito Records. Now the trio has augmented the group to include the legendary players, Federico Britos on violin and Dr. Ed Calle on sax. This phenomenal quintet is poised to take over the international Jazz scene in 2012. Catch them here in their Miami hometown worldwide performance before everybody else finds out about the excitement. More info available at NegronisTrio.Com.
You can tune in worldwide on our Internet site at WLRN.Org at 1:00pm, EST on 9/9/11, for the broadcast.
