Barcelona, Spain - March 14, 2005 - Frame Drums Europe is glad to announce to drums lovers, musicians, teachers, students and drum makers the first official event intended to be the real meeting point for the european drummers community: the European Framedrummers Meetings 2005 (http://efdm2005.framedrumseurope.com)

The aim of the project is to create an annual event in which the protagonist is the rich European and Mediterranean tradition of this ancient instrument: the Frame Drum.

During the three days of the meeting, there will be concerts, workshops and clinics given by the best drummers of the international scene. Besides all this there will be time for the most important moment inside this event, when all the participants will share experiences and will enjoy playing together.

The workshops and master classes will be focused on european/mediterranean drumming traditions like italian drums and galician drums (like tamburello, paindeireta and pandeiro), persian traditional drums (daf, ghaval and tonbak). The third day will be entirely dedicated to Glen Velez's workshop on advanced techniques of frame drumming and modern approach to framedrums compositions and improvisations. Each day will end with a concert - master percussionists will play the drums that the students learned about during the day - and a final Jam Session involving students and teachers.
