Eighth Annual Bermuda Jazz Festival Update

This year's Eighth Annual Bermuda Jazz Festival held on October 9 through October 11, was a huge success with record-breaking attendance numbers. The Festival took place at the historic Royal Naval Dockyard on an outdoor stage constructed above the gorgeous turquoise ocean, which also served as a breathtaking backdrop. Occasional rain showers did not prevent avid festival-goers from coming out each evening to witness incredible performances by Natalie Cole, Kenny G, BeBe Winans, Regina Belle, Freddie Jackson, Stephanie Mills, Gerald Levert, Marcus Johnson, Mike Phillips, Clasicos del Son, and other international and native Bermudan artists.

Produced by BET Event Productions (BEP), the Eighth Annual Bermuda Jazz Festival was sponsored by the Bermuda Department of Tourism, American Express, Bank of Bermuda, Cambridge Beaches, Jazziz Magazine, The Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and US Airways.

In addition to the Bermuda Jazz Festival held annually in September, and the St. Lucia Jazz Festival, which occurs May 7-16, 2004, BET Event Productions has added two new festivals to its Caribbean roster. BEP will produce the first annual Anguilla Tranquility Jazz Festival on November 14-16, 2003 and will promote the Barbados Jazz Festival in January 2004. BEP has also expanded their outreach beyond the Caribbean with the inclusion of the Iceland Jazz Festival (November 5-9, 2003) and the Ghana Jazz & Heritage Festival (February 21-28, 2004).
