E Dog Benefit for Detroit Sax Man

Although he was born in Cleveland and has lived in the San Francisco area for the past 12 years, Scott Petersen, ("E Dog" to everyone he knows) has always considered Detroit his musical home. This hardworking saxophone player is known and loved from coast to coast having played with many Detroit acts and renowned names such as Aretha Franklin and Dizzy Gillespie. One of the world's longest surviving adults with cystic fibrosis, he is now awaiting a double lung transplant.

Detroit's finest jazz and R 'n' B musicians will be on hand at Cliff Bell's on Tuesday, June 17 to raise badly needed funds for this deserving and talented sax man. Scheduled to perform are Marcus Belgrave, Thornetta Davis, Johnnie Bassett, Paul Keller, Walt Szymanski, RJ Spangler & James O'Donnell and the Planet D Nonet, Bill Heid and also the Sun Messengers. The music begins at 8 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10; all proceeds will go toward Scott's transplant and follow-up care...
