On january 27th the master tenor player Harry Verbeke died in his hometown Haarlem. He was 81 years old. Harry was in the 50's and 60's a member of the famous dutch jazz quintet The Diamond Five" and played with several famous european and and american jazzmusicians. For Timeless records he made a record with Billy Higgins and Herbie Lewis. Harry Verbeke was a heavyweight tenorplayer with a big sound a bit like Stanley Turrentine.
