Dutch Tenor Saxophonist Harry Verbeke Died (81)

On january 27th the master tenor player Harry Verbeke died in his hometown Haarlem. He was 81 years old. Harry was in the 50's and 60's a member of the famous dutch jazz quintet “The Diamond Five" and played with several famous european and and american jazzmusicians. For Timeless records he made a record with Billy Higgins and Herbie Lewis. Harry Verbeke was a heavyweight tenorplayer with a big sound a bit like Stanley Turrentine.
