Augusto Bussio, the Argentinian jazz/rock drummer and music producer, has carved a niche for himself in the music industry with his talent behind the drum kit and his prowess in the studio. Now he's set to bring his talents to the U.S.
Augusto Bussio, the Argentinian jazz/rock drummer and music producer, has carved a niche for himself in the music industry with his talent behind the drum kit and his prowess in the studio. Now he's set to bring his talents to the U.S.
The internationally-recognized drummer has performed with renowned bands in the world of metal, progressive rock, and Latin jazz/hip hop fusion. But he's not your average drummer. He's also a seasoned music producer and composer.
Bussio is currently the drummer for two fusion bands: the progressive rock band Ok Goodnight and the Latin jazz/hip hop fusion band FM Collective. Bussio's drumming, production, and compositions can be heard on FM Collective's album Orologio (2024) and Ok Goodnight's Limbo, (2019), Under the Veil (2020), their acclaimed 2023 release The Fox and the Bird.
On The Fox and the Bird, Bussio's drumming is stellar and it sits perfectly in the mix, an example of his talent as a drummer and producer. Bussio was very involved in the composition and production of the album, leading many recording sessions and recording background vocals and special effects. After the album's release, Bussio and the rest of Ok Goodnight embarked on a U.S. tour in 2023, North American tour in 2024, and performed at the last edition of major festival Night of the Prog in Germany alongside some of the biggest bands in the genre.
One can also hear Bussio's work in FM Collective's album “Orologio," a jazz/hip-hop record, off Bussio's versatility behind the drum kit, as well as his work behind the mixing board. Each song on the record is unique, varying in style and genre, yet the album as a whole is cohesive and of course, the drums sound great.
Bussio's work can also be heard on Atomic Guava's album Peasants of the Future (2022) and their single “Big Cat." In Argentina, he performed throughout Buenos Aires with Juan Rosasco en Banda and composed the song “Milanesa" on the band's album Cuentos Para Coleccionar.
Moving forward, Bussio is staying busy.
With Ok Goodnight, he'll be recording and producing another full-length studio album next year. The band will also be performers at Wisconsin's Mad With Power festival and will continue to embark on U.S. and European tours in 2026. He's also in the process of recording FM Collective's upcoming release 2025, featuring a collaboration with the Peruvian recording artist Moncho Berry.
