"Downloaded": Documentary Reminds How Long Music Industry Has Been Split

The new documentary “Downloaded“ serves as a reminder that the current fight over the fairness of Pandora royalties is rooted in the revolution that Napster unleashed in 2001. In this clip from the film, which was released today on Amazonand other paid streaming services,  Metallica's Lars Ulrich and the Byrds' Roger McGuinn testify before the Senate illustrating two views that have show how deeply digital music has divided the industry.

Ulrich's position has shifted over the last dozen years, and McGuinn remains a strong proponent of the paradigm.
