In 1967, director Robert Drew spent quality time with Duke Ellington while the bandleader was on tour with his orchestra in the U.S. The result was On the Road With Duke Ellington, an astonishing 58-minute documentary first shown in 1974, the year of Duke's death. An intimate, musical look at one of the most important jazz figures of the 20th century.
