The first installment is an hour-long, four-song recording from a 2007 European tour with his water-tight quintet, who were behind Holland's excellent 2006 album Critical Mass.
The best part? The 320 kbps MP3 download costs only a buck.
First announced last week via Holland's Twitter feed, the concert is available to stream or download through the end of February. Featuring reliably great work from longtime cohorts Nate Smith on drums and saxophonist Chris Potter (as well as a fine solo from Holland on Secret Garden"), it is a nice appetizer for the Dave Holland Octet's upcoming live release Pathways," which is also available for pre-order on Holland's site. (Look for more on that album as we get closer to its March 23 release.)
