IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB
1650 BROADWAY (Corner of 51st)
NEW YORK, NY 10023
RESERVATIONS: 212-582-2121
April 12-15 DAVE DOUGLAS & KEYSTONE
featuring Marcus Strickland on tenor saxophone, Adam Benjamin on fender rhodes, Brad Jones on bass, Gene Lake on drums, and DJ Olive on turntables
The Iridium Jazz Club is pleased to present....Dave Douglas & Keystone return with a new program of modern electric jazz and early American silent films. Each set will present new pieces composed since the release of their Grammy-nominated recording, Keystone, on Douglas' own Greenleaf Music label. The band will also reprise music heard on that release and perform along with short silent film comedies from the works of Roscoe Arbuckle, unfairly maligned director and star of the early film era. This will be a passionate and humorous evening of music and film.
The band is an all-star affair, with some of the strongest and most creative players on today's scene: Dave Douglas, trumpet; Marcus Strickland, saxophones; DJ Olive, turntables; Gene Lake, drums; Brad Jones, electric bass; Adam Benjamin, keyboards.
And the live album of the band on the Paperback Series... it's called Keystone Live in Sweden.
