Comparing Traditional and Brilliant Finish Cymbals

Traditional finish cymbals do not have a high gloss shine or coating applied. Lathing is a traditional finished cymbals finished look. Brilliant finish cymbals have a high gloss shine and if there are lathed grooves they are not as deep because they have been buffed down. Brilliant finish cymbals have great stage presents because of their eye catching high gloss shine. These cymbals are easier to clean than traditional finished cymbals because the grooves are not as deep to collect dirt. There are slight sound differences between the two finishes. Brilliant finished cymbals are bit more controlled sounding where as traditional finished cymbals are bright and cutting. Because of buffing process on brilliant finished cymbals, they become slightly thinner and open up faster. Check these differences out for yourself and get the cymbal that's right for you.
