One of the more dynamic vocal presences on the current scene, Carmen Lundy's new live set is absolutely compelling. The stellar musicianship, original choices of material, and Lundy's flexible, exuberant, deeply hewn voice, hallmark this tour-de-force concert date. It in all likelihood is by far her very best effort, and the high point in an overall outstanding career that leaves little doubt how great a jazz vocalist she truly is. Upon repeated listening's it's clear Lundy is heading towards her zenith.
