Newport, R.I.--New Festival Productions today announced that discounted tickets are being made available to health care professionals who would like to attend the 2010 CareFusion Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, RI August 6-8. Generously donated by jazz impresario and festival producer George Wein, the discount is being provided in support of CareFusion's “Rhythm of Care," a program created by leading global medical device company CareFusion (NYSE: CFN) to raise money and awareness for the people and practices that make health care safer and more efficient.
“Like jazz, the Rhythm of Care program brings together people from all facets of life," said George Wein. “We recognize the contribution of health care workers who are making a difference in patient care within their communities and we encourage them to join us in celebrating the music as well as this worthy cause."
With a focus on eliminating medication errors and health care-associated infections, CareFusion's Rhythm of Care campaign has been designed to bring together organizations and people from health care to promote best practices that help save lives.
“Medication errors and infection prevention are two of the greatest challenges facing the medical industry," said David Schlotterbeck, chairman and chief executive officer of CareFusion, the sponsor of the festival. “We would like to thank George Wein, whose support through the discount program serves to attract more people to the festival to learn about this important cause."
How to secure a discounted ticket
To receive $20 off a general admission ticket to the CareFusion Newport Jazz Festival on Saturday, August 7, and Sunday, August 8, health care professionals should bring their medical identification when they purchase their ticket at the box office. The discount will also be available at the new festival office at Empire Tea & Coffee, located at 22 Broadway in Newport, R.I. beginning on June 15. The festival office is open Tuesdays and Fridays noon - 4:00 p.m., Thursdays 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. There is a (4) four ticket limit per order. This offer is not valid on previously purchased tickets.
