Canada South Blues Society (Windsor) to Hold Blues Challenge Series

Ever wish you could have a do-over? NOW YOU CAN!

After many years of not staging a Blues Challenge Series, The Canada South Blues Society in Windsor has decided to do so this year in conjunction with Caesars Windsor Casino and Molson Canadian.

YOU ARE INVITED YOU TO COMPETE!

he preliminary rounds will be held on Wednesday evenings at Caesars Windsor (in the big room) on the following dates:
  • September 29, 2010 8pm-11pm
  • October 6, 2010 8pm-11pm
  • October 13, 2010 8pm-11pm
  • October 20, 2010 8pm-11pm
  • October 27, 2010 8pm-11pm
The Finals will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 8pm-11pm, also at Caesars Windsor.

HERE ARE THE COMPETITOR DETAILS:

SOLO/DUO As a solo/duo competitor, your will be paid a per diem of $50 USD. You have a 50-50 chance of winning the preliminaries as there are only 2 competitors per division, per event. Sound will be provided and you will need to perform a 30-minute set (to be assigned by random draw).

Winners of the preliminary rounds will automatically advance to the finals where they will compete for the following:

1st Place—$1,000 and a spot in the International Blues Challenge (January 2011) in Memphis, TN PLUS a $400 contract to perform at the 2011 Bluesfest International in July and a professional presskit design. 2nd Place—A $300 contract to perform at a 2011 Canada South Blues Society show (date TBD). 3rd Place—A $250 contract to perform at a 2011 Canada South Blues Society show (date TBD).


BANDS As a band competitor, you will be paid a per diem of $200 USD for performing. You have a 50-50 chance of winning the preliminaries as there are only 2 competitors per division, per event. A full backline (minus keyboard) and sound will be provided and you will need to perform a 30-minute set (to be assigned by random draw).
