British Jazz Concert Series Returns to US - June 11-20, 2010

Rochester, NY and New York City will once again play host to America's largest series of British jazz concerts in June 2010. Produced by ESIP, 'Made in the UK 2010' (MinUK) will show case five English groups, three Scottish and two Welsh groups at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival (XRIJF) and jazz venues in New York. ESIP's partners this year are the Scottish Arts Council, Scottish Jazz Federation, Glasgow Jazz Festival, Jazz Services and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

The English artists selected for the XRIJF concerts from 11 - 19 June are Stan Tracey and his trio, John Taylor, Get The Blessing, Gwyneth Herbert Quartet and Dennis Rollins' Velocity Trio. Paula Gardiner will be presenting Little Fish and Evan Clegg's 'Explorations' project from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Brass Jaw, the Ryan Quigley Sextet and Tommy Smith's performance with Brian Kellock will represent the Scottish jazz scene.

A four day mini-festival in NYC kicks off with a performance by the Stan Tracey Trio at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, Lincoln Center on Monday 14th June. A special night at Birdland on Tuesday 15th June will celebrate the world famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club featuring many special guest artists. Get The Blessing are confirmed for Joe's' Pub on Wednesday 16th June, while Gwyneth Herbert will perform an NYC concert on Thursday 17th June in a venue to be confirmed.

XRIJF has become one of the USA's leading jazz festivals in the seven years of its existence. As well as presenting legendary artists from the jazz community such as Wynton Marsalis and Dave Brubeck the XRIJF places strong emphasis on presenting the emerging artists from around the world.
