New York, NY—BreakThru Radio (BTR) is the world's leading source for the best independent music on the Internet using a unique on-demand programming approach. Three years ago, on February 1st 2009, Linus Wyrsch joined the team of DJs and took over the bi-weekly jazz show “The Jazz Hole." Being a sought-after musician himself in the Big Apple, Linus embraces a unique relationship with the style and its musicians, consequently providing the listeners with a backstage pass to the New Yorker jazz scene.

BTR's main focus is the independent world and DJ Linus gives us plenty of that, often presenting young new talents inside and outside of the New Yorker circuit. However, once in a while Linus is able to sneak in a major jazz artist, sometimes accompanied with a short interview. Throughout the year 2011 he welcomed woodwind great Lew Tabackin, guitar virtuoso Randy Johnston as well as the outstanding jazz pianist Helen Sung. In earlier years, Linus held conversations with Sue Mingus, Steve Gadd, Jojo Mayer, Fred Hersch, Jean-Michel Pilc and even the President of Resonance Records George Klabin.

With Jazz being such a broad term, “The Jazz Hole" usually features a little something for everybody. Musicians and fans that are looking for the perfect blend of tradition and innovation should tune in to the show, as Linus specifically sets out to maintain the balance. 'The Jazz Hole' comes out every other Sunday and “BTR The Jazz Hole Live" is a monthly show broadcasting a recorded live set every 2nd Thursday of the month. You can listen to the shows on breakthruradio.com or subscribe to the podcast here. 'The Jazz Hole' with Linus will launch into its 4th year on Sunday, January 29th 2012.
