About the Bluesy Brunch

Howard’s show is a tasty blend of funny, naughty and plaintive blues, her original songs, swinging jazz, and little spice of Latin and funky R&B. It’s all swirled in a sauce of Howard’s gossipy tidbits about jazz artists and snippets of her extraordinary life on three continents, in four countries, and 15 cities.

The June 1st show features Daniel Bennett on woodwinds and keys, Ron Jackson on guitar, Eddy Khaimovich on bass and Darrell Smith on drums, playing blues, jazz, and original compositions.

“Eileen’s shows have been fantastic and so well received”, said West End owner, John Forslund, “We couldn’t wait to get her booked well into the future. Our new chef and brunch menu have also been a big hit. We’ve updated the club with many new improvements and will be showing off our brand new stage.”

L.A. Jazz Scene called Howard “a singer well worth discovering.” The Blues Music Blog said: “She harnesses the genre as one of those rare entertainers with the sensitivity and witty flair to deeply evoke the human sensibility.” Deejay Fritz “The Night Owl” called her “One of the most creative and swingin’ singers ever to vocalize on the local jazz scene.” And music review blog, “Wileys World” said, “Eileen Howard sings like a Diva, vamps like a Rat-Pack veteran and generally entertains like few others can...” Her 20-year career as an actress and singer has been studded with awards for musical performance and acting.

Howard, a transplant from Columbus Ohio, is a recording artist and composer, who recently released a live recording of her sold out “Blues Cabaret” called BLUES IN THE GREEN ROOM, which has been praised by music reviewers. Previously, she released two critically acclaimed jazz CD’s, and an eclectic CD of spiritual tunes of her own composition. She has received airplay on a number of radio stations, as well as Internet stations and Pandora.
