Bethel, NY - June 29, 2006 Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, a new state-of-the-art cultural center located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival, will present its Jazz Festival Weekend July 22 & 23, curated by four-time Grammy Award winner Dianne Reeves and produced by John Schreiber. Also performing, Reeves has been awarded a Grammy for best jazz vocal performance for three consecutive recordings, a Grammy first in any vocal category. Reeves recently won her fourth Grammy Award for her work on the soundtrack to Oscar-nominated Good Night and Good Luck.

Scheduled featured performances during the festival include jazz legends Wynton Marsalis, George Benson, John Pizzarelli and Big Band; jazz pioneers Jimmy Heath and Paquito D'Rivera; jazz contemporaries Chris Botti, Dave Douglas and Nellie McKay; and local artists James Emery and Thurman Barker. In addition to the main stage performances at the Bethel Woods Pavilion, there will be musicians performing throughout the grounds starting at 12:00 p.m. Family friendly activities are planned throughout both days of the Festival. Performing at the Pavilion: George Benson, Dave Douglas Quintet, Jimmy Heath Quartet, John Pizzarelli and Big Band, Nellie McKay, Paquito D'Rivera Quintet and James Emery.

Ticket prices are $55.00, $35.00 reserved, $20.00 lawn, and $80 for 2-day reserved seat pass. Lawn tickets for children 12 and under are $5.

July 23

Ticket prices are $65.00, $35.00 reserved, $20.00 lawn, and $80 for 2-day reserved seat pass. Lawn tickets for children 12 and under are $5.

Bethel Woods, a project of the not for profit Gerry Foundation, is set within nearly 1,700 pristine acres and will present a variety of artists and performances in its inaugural season, including classical, pop, rock, country and jazz. By providing artists with the opportunity to play and perform on one of music's most legendary grounds, Bethel Woods is committed to building its status as a must-see cultural destination for arts lovers from around the region, the country and the world.

The performing arts center is comprised of a 4,800-seat summer pavilion with space on the lawn for an additional 12,000 music patrons, an outdoor 700 - seat amphitheatre and an interpretive and multi-purpose events gallery center. The Gallery to open in 2007 consists of approximately 4,500 square feet intended for community gatherings, lectures, receptions, meetings and other events. The interpretive center, also scheduled for 2007, will include 10,000 square feet of exhibition space to tell the story of the 1969 Woodstock Festival, its historical context and its influence upon American culture.
