BOSTON, February 27, 2001 -- Berklee College of Music will present Piano Week from Monday, March 5, through Thursday, March 8. The annual series will feature concerts and clinics by visiting artists, Berklee's renowned piano faculty, and some of the college's top student pianists. All events are free except Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night concerts in the wheelchair-accessible Berklee Performance Center. BPC events are $4.00 -- $1.00 for seniors. Piano Week will feature Associate Professor Joanne Brackeen in quartet with Woodwind Chair Billy Pierce at the David Friend Recital Hall, 921 Boylston Street, Boston, on Monday, March 5, at 7:30. Also that day, Piano faculty Suzanne Davis and David Hazeltine will perform in the Friend at 1 and 4 respectively.
Tuesday, March 6, will feature the Yellowjackets' Russell Ferrante in a guest artist clnic at 2 and in concert at 8:15 at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue. Piano faculty member Bruce Thomas performs at 4 in the David Friend Recital Hall.
On Wednesday, March 7, the David Friend hosts Piano Department Assistant Chair Stephany Tiernan at 1 and Sunnyside recording artist Armen Donelian at 4. At 8:15 that evening, the Piano Student Concert takes place at the Berklee Performance Center.
Thursday, March 8 features faculty Bruce Katz and Dave Limina at 1 and Suzanna Sifter at 4 in the Berk Recital Hall, 1140 Boylston Street. That evening at 8:15, the Berklee Performance Center is the site of a faculty concert by Laszlo Gardony, with John Lockwood on bass and Jamey Haddad on drums.
