'Basie Rocks' Tops Traditional Jazz Chart At #1 With Vocalist Deborah Silver!

Her strong, sultry vocals are both seductive and soul-soothing... Whatever she sings, she owns, making every note matter! One listen, and it’s clear… Deborah Silver is the real deal.

Deborah Silver
Basie Rocks! debuted at #1 on the Current Traditional Jazz Album Sales chart and #12 on Billboard’s Traditional Jazz Albums chart. The album, released May 2nd on Green Hill Records, was the highest debut for the week's Billboard Traditional Jazz chart.

Triumphantly bridging the worlds of rock and jazz, Silver seamlessly swings classics with some of the biggest and most respected names in music today. From her collaboration with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Peter Frampton on “Baby, I Love Your Way” to her fiery take on The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It, Black” featuring 10-time GRAMMY-winning Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, along with Pedrito Martínez on percussion, Basie Rocks! offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Produced by Steve Jordan of The Rolling Stones, Basie Rocks! fittingly and stylishly honors the legendary Count Basie Orchestra’s 90th anniversary.

Steve Jordan states, “Collaborating with Deborah Silver in the studio has been an inspiring experience—her boundless creativity and fearless approach always led to something special. Deborah’s beautiful voice is perfect for reinventing these beloved songs the world knows so well. It takes supreme talent and unwavering confidence to achieve what she has with this exceptional recording.”

Additional special guests on the album include, GRAMMY-winning guitarist Bill Frisell, New Orleans legend Trombone Shorty, GRAMMY-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, and saxophonist and NEA Jazz Master George Coleman.
