Amaury Gutierrez
Singer-songwriter Amaury Gutierrez, who grew up in Cuba, has received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, an award for Best New Artist from Spain's Premios Onda, and the honor of having been personally invited by Sting to open for him. Amaury describes his style as Cuban pop.
Los Pinguos
Winner of Ed McMahon's Next Big Star' competition, Los Pinguos, an eclectic Argentinean group, play a unique blend of Latin music and have a vibrant, stylish following. Their music is a mixture of Latin rhythms, performed with Spanish guitars, a Cuban Tres, Peruvian cjaon (box-drums)and harmonizing vocals.
Fernando Osorio
Latin pop singer-songwriter Fernando Osorio was born in Colombia and raised in Venezuela, studying music at a young age. He has composed for Ricardo Montaner, Sergio Vargas, Cristian, Marta Sanchez, Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Huey Dumbar and others. His latest recording titled Debe Ser on Respek Records was released this summer.
Negros
In 2004, Negros swept the coveted Cassandra Awards in 5 categories and launched the group into instant stardom in their native Dominican Republic and beyond. Negros songwriter-vocalist Wason Brazoban's songs, which have elements of Dominican countryside with modern pop music, are in high demand from top producers.
Ciudad De Angeles
Dominican Republic natives Ciudad de Angeles recently released Contigo on Sony International, which has reached #1 throughout Latin America and is a smash hit, especially in Mexico. Their sound has a refreshing feel of pop with a solid infusion of Caribbean colors.
