Successful Information Synchronization System Opens Up, Allowing Users to Export and Post Their Information To Personal Websites and Beyond
(CHICAGO) — ArtistData, a free information synchronization service created for the music industry and named one of the “top 10 indie music marketing tools” by Hypebot, has shown impressive growth since its public beta launch in June 2008. Thousands of artists, major and independent labels, and management companies have discovered this powerful new promotional tool.
To build on its growing popularity, ArtistData is adding new features designed to allow artists to post their information to an even larger number of online destinations. Today they launched the following set of features:
Website Widget: ArtistData announces today the ability for users to add a customizable calendar widget on their official websites, making it possible for users to update their website, MySpace, and many other sites at the same time through the ArtistData Dashboard.
iCal Subscription: ArtistData users who like to keep their tour schedule up-to-date in their desktop calendar program have one less place to update! Users can now view their calendar in Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCal, and more!
CSV Export (with SonicBids® support): Users can now export the shows they’ve entered into ArtistData in two formats: Standard CSV and SonicBids® CSV. The Standard CSV will contain all artist show information. The SonicBids® CSV will generate a file that is compatible with SonicBids®’ calendar template, allowing users of the SonicBids® EPK service to easily import ArtistData shows into their online press kit!
RSS Feeds: ArtistData has made RSS feeds available for each artist’s shows, allowing them to use this data in a wider array of places.
In addition, ArtistData also announces the expansion of its data-sharing network with the following new partners: BandsInTown, BlueHaze, GrooveShark, and Supernova. These new additions join ArtistData’s already robust network, which includes MySpace, PureVolume, Virb, Jambase, and Eventful.
As usual, all features are offered at no charge. ArtistData plans to introduce more new features in the coming weeks, including multi-artist and user accounts.
