In mid November 2012, the Arch Stanton Quartet (ASQ), based in upstate New York, released its debut record of mostly original material that the Quartet has been performing at clubs throughout the Capital Region and Upstate New York during the past three years.

The compositions by trumpet player Terry Gordon and guitarist Roger Noyes span swinging post-bop (“Along For The Ride”), funk (“Modest Sleuthing”), Latin grooves (“Watching The Storm Go By” and “Twilight Curves”), jazz shuffles (“Compared To What”) and free-form experimentation (“Flying Gurnard”). Bassist Chris Macchia and drummer Steven Partyka lay down strong grooves, and all members of the band contribute some inspired solos.

The album closes with a duet by Gordon and Noyes on Bruno Martino and Bruno Brighetti’s “Estate.” All tracks were recorded live on August 25 and 26 with all four instruments in one room.

ASQ released the CD during a CD release show on November 16 at More Bread and Jam in Cohoes, New York.

Also announced at the show, the band is slated to perform at the Cairo International Jazz Festival in Egypt in March. More details about the band's Eqypt trip will be released in the coming days.
