The Alaadeen & Group 21 performance tonight, will feature several interesting original compositions, along with arrangements of familiar jazz repertoire by the award winning composer and the band's leader. In addition to Alaadeen performing on tenor and soprano saxophones, the group membership also includes several of Kansas City's most noted musicians. Oscar Williams is the group's new pianist; Seth Lee holds down the bass chair; and Michael Warren rounds out the quartet as drum set percussionist.

Ahmad Alaadeen is one of the most significant musicians actively working in the field of Jazz Music today. The Kansas City native is an award-winning performer, composer and educator, who continues to perform and record at the highest levels of the music industry while engaging a noteworthy career that spans over 5 decades. Alaadeen has three (3) critically acclaimed international CD releases as leader to his credit. His latest recording is “New Africa Suite".

ASR RECORDS was co-founded in 1995 by Alaadeen; along with longtime community arts advocate, Victoria Dunfee. Their initial purpose and goals, which were relatively modest and simple, centered on providing a professional music label for deserving recording artist talent. 'ASR RECORDS Artists are among the most refreshing creative jazz talent today, who are also actively performing, composing, recording and producing their own original commercial music product releases. 'ASR RECORDS Artists are award-winning performers, composers and producers whose credits include a Congressional Award, Broadway, Film and Television, various individual Songwriting and Composition Awards, and numerous other significant forms of tangible recognition for superior excellence in the field of music, along with significantly noteworthy contributions in national and international arts arenas.
