As the summer continues with its brutally damp onslaught (be it rain or humidity), so too does the festival season. The JVC Jazz Festival makes its annual pilgrimage back to Newport, commemorated by a new historical three-CD compilation (see CD reviews, pg. 10) and the Caramoor Jazz Festival continues its second weekend of first-rate jazz programming.
