“Rather than build a mega-mart, all-things-to-all-people type of store, we plan to present our store as more of a connoisseur's boutique that delivers specialty, higher-quality items. We'll feature products on our home page to promote greater awareness about what we have to offer," says All About Jazz founder and publisher Michael Ricci.
Ricci adds, “T-shirts, especially of our own AAJ brand, seemed like a natural starting point, but we are also investigating other apparel opportunities as well as specialty import CDs. Everyone agrees that there is an abundance of great music released around the world that many people, for whatever reason, never get exposed to. We are going to try to do something about that. Books, posters and photographic prints are also under consideration."
AAJ has partnered with Banzai, Inc., the same company that provides production, warehousing, fulfillment and customer-related services for Ropeadope Records and Blue Note Records, for this initiative.
