Do you read Paste Magazine? Or, any paper magazine, for that matter? Well, there's still a crowd for this, and Paste hasa considerable online presence. Certainly, this is a tough space (trust us), though Wolfgang's Vault thinks some opportunity exists here. The parent company of Wolfgang's Vault... has acquired all assets of Paste Magazine," confirmed Paste cofounder and editor-in-chief Josh Jackson.
Those assets include pastemagazine.com, a fairly well-trafficked site that also ties into the @PasteMagazine Twitter account. But the post-acquisition Paste will be blended into a Wolfgang's portfolio that includes lots of vintage video, audio and merchandise, as well as some newer stuff. We believe that Paste's editorial and sales strength will be a wonderful complement to our broad array of music content," said Wolfgang head Bill Sagan. We are now able to provide a comprehensive entertainment experience combining live music audio and video with classic merchandise, all wrapped with great editorial."
So what's ahead? Apparently the editorial focus will remain the same, though some online subscription aspects will be launched at SXSW.
