Acclaimed Composer Hyewon Park Appointed To Prominent Music Programs In The U.s.

Acclaimed South Korean composer, pianist, and music educator Hyewon Park is about to make waves in the music industry in the United States. Known for her extraordinary ability to perform, compose, and communicate her musical expertise to students, Park is about to bring her expertise to the next generation of students in the United States, as she has accepted leading roles at several esteemed music schools and colleges.
Acclaimed South Korean composer, pianist, and music educator Hyewon Park is about to make waves in the music industry in the United States. Known for her extraordinary ability to perform, compose, and communicate her musical expertise to students, Park is about to bring her expertise to the next generation of students in the United States, as she has accepted leading roles at several esteemed music schools and colleges.

One of the world’s most prestigious educational institutions, Berklee College of Music, has sought out Park’s expertise and invited her to have a leading role in their Berklee City Music program. Berklee City Music is a highly esteemed educational program founded thirty years ago that reaches over 10,000 students each year. Manhattan School of Music, one of the country’s most-recognized music schools, has also hired Park to lead various aspects of their events and educational programs. During the next three years, Park will be instrumental in selecting music, directing, and overseeing performances and events.

Park will also bring her talents to two more of New York’s most respected music schools: Anselmo Academy and Absolute Piano, both of whom have hired her to be their lead piano instructor for the next three years. With Park’s extensive experience and passion for education, students are sure to benefit immensely from her leadership and expertise.

Park is no stranger to academic excellence, having won scholarships to both Berklee College of Music and Manhattan School of Music. During her time at Berklee, she was awarded the prestigious Clare Fisher Award for her work as a composer. Later, she would go on to hold the esteemed position of Composer and Arranger of the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra from December 2020-2021. During this period, she showcased her compositional prowess, contributing significantly to the orchestra’s performances and has been recognized for achievements by media outlets such as Pitch Perfect. While in Boston, Park also composed music for the annual Commencement Concert at the Agganis Arena, a high-profile event that has hosted legends such as Justin Timberlake, Carole King, and Willie Nelson.

Park is also set to collaborate with K-Pop sensation Adelyn Paik from 2024 to 2027 as Lead Composer, Arranger, and Sound Engineer. In this role, she will compose and arrange music for multiple album projects, oversee production, and direct musicians. Paik, an internationally recognized artist, will no doubt benefit from Park’s extensive experience and unique musical vision. Additionally, Park is set to bring her virtuosity on the piano to Grammy-nominated artist Brad Kang’s band and to the annual "Love & Unity" concerts in New York produced by Glow Cultural Center.

Additionally, Park will be a key participant in the prestigious BMI Jazz Composers Workshop from 2024 to 2025. The workshop, known for its competitive nature and prestigious alumni, will provide Park with an even larger platform to display her compositional talents.
