SOME OF THE REVIEWS:

“New Africa Suite" CD REVIEW
By: Tom Ineck, Berman Music Foundation

SOME OF THE COMMENTS AND QUOTES:

“Ahmad Alaadeen has the sound of peace in his horns. This reflects his philosophy about life; he is a man of peace. While listening to ‘Grace’, from his ‘New Africa Suite’, I was both intrigued and soothed at the same time. His solos flow seamlessly out of the melodies of each composition with a thematic development that will have you wondering where the solo starts and the melody ends. I believe that ‘New Africa Suite’ is Alaadeen’s most important project to date. His tone on both the tenor and soprano are one of the most beautiful and compelling sounds in jazz.”
… Bobby Watson

“New Africa Suite might be his most focused and passionate musical statement yet. All the music is original: The writing, ranging from the deep ballad “Salaam, Shalom, Peace” to the funky “Beneath Where Rivers Flow,” is consistently good, and the playing is even better... The last tune, “The Jannah Now,” is perhaps the most memorable thing that Alaadeen has written yet. The title refers to building a little bit of heaven on earth, with family and friends, and the song is pure joy."
… Joe Klopus, Kansas City Star (article excerpts)

“Alaadeen's sound is VERY PURE, FRESH and PEACEFUL !!"
... Yoko Takemura

“Listeners are immediately engaged from the very first track of the disc to explore the polyrhythmic grooves that are complemented by Alaadeen's thoughtful use of world music percussion; the rich and accessible complex jazz harmonies of each piece; Alaadeen's logically crafted and expertly composed melodies; and, the myriad of aural adventures that each of the individual soloists bring to the music. This is truly music that has been captured in its most creative context.”
... Chris Burnett

“I was listening your music on the net and I really like what you're doing. We have a radio show on a local station here in Connecticut, U.S.A. and also on the net 24h 7 days a week. We are a serious independent radio station and try to help independent artists by playing their music on the show. The name of our show is “The Upper Room with Joe Kelley". Joe Kelley and I are known by many artists for our respect for the music they're doing. If you want airplay and the bio of our show, just let me know. Continue your great work, your music is very good."
