Each year, the Jazz Festival showcases widely known international stars, significant new and emerging artists. The music played embraces a wide spectrum of styles, disciplines and genre's.
The annual Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa Jazz Festival was founded in 1999 by Art & Theatre Association (pol. Stowarzyszenie Sztuka Teatr) and today ranks as one of the largest Jazz Festival in Poland.
Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa (eng. Bielska Jazz Blizzard) invited for its previous editions polish and international stars such as Tomasz Stanko, Janusz Muniak, Wayne Bartlett, Chico Freeman, Adam Pieronczyk, David Murray, All Foster, Michal Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak, Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski, Richard Galliano, Alaide Costa, Johnny Alf, Roy Hargrove, Till Broenner, The Yellowjackets, Terence Blanchard and others.
In our program we have ten concerts, featuring three groups of performers from Poland, Europe, United States. A Japanese Dance Group will be special guests and they will arrive especially from Tokyo for us.
Poland will be represented by Anna Serafiska with Groove Machine and Zbigniew Wegehaupt Quartet. New albums will be released by both musicians.
On special show we will listening to The Big Band Of Music Academy in Katowice. Like in a past years, laureates of contest accompanying to Zadymka will perform on special gala.
Europe will be represented by the Dutch pianist Peter Beets.
One of the concerts will introduce to you European Music Of The Year Nominee, Norwegian double-bass performer Arild Andersen; the other will feature the Dutch band Relax.
There can be no festival without stars. This year's star attractions will be American duo Lovano&Jones. Joe Lovano is one of the best tenor sax players in the world. The second part of the duo will be legendary pianist Hank Jones.
Fresh beats from London will be presented for you by saxophonist Courtney Pine and his Resistance.
There will be a photography exhibition of New Orleans Jazz. Also, every year Stowarzyszenie Sztuka Teatr in Bielsko Biala organizes contest of new jazz music projects that is open to all jazz musicians.
