While there have been 30 and 48 hour long jam sessions recorded in past years these involved straight blues and jazz standards. At 33 1/3, 45 and now 45B-Side all the non-stop music is totally improvised. Rotating musicians from many genres and countries take part creating music on the spot and continue for 45 plus hours.
This years 45 B-Side held in Padua, Italy on Oct. 9, 10, 11 will have special guests King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto, Schroeder, Willie Oteri, producer musician Ronan Chris Murphy, Warr Guitarist Marcus Reuter, and many other jazz and rock musicians of name to be held at the Factory04.
Next year the promoters hope to have a 78 hour long session and one perhaps even longer to help bring back the music of New Orleans.
