Taipei International Summer Jazz Academy, in its 8th anniversary, has witnessed the result of 7 years' cooperation between corporal and educational circles, becoming the pride of Taiwan! TISJA has not only cultivated many jazz new talents, but encourage further study abroad in European and American academies, broadening the market into performing art, gaining recognition, and infusing new blood into Taiwan's jazz scene.
The organizer plans a week's activity and invites international jazz masters to teach in Taiwan. Each year, the jazz instructors include renown jazz musicians to faculties of prestigious conservatories around America and Europe. The TISJA student member average age between 16 to 45, consisting of local young music teachers and musicians as a major part. TISJA ranks top in its scale and level of proficiency in Taiwan, and also attracts many participants from Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, America, becoming a cradle for Asian jazz new talent.
The activity after 2011 will become more closely connected with Taipei International Jazz Festival, inviting more new jazz artists and provide more advanced teaching material, more compact planning, and a system that conforms to the tradition of mutual growth in jazz, providing a incomparable experience for the participants. By allowing participation of members of different nationalities (including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, South Eastern Asian countries...), we improve international cultural exchange.
11 International Jazz Masters are all noted musicians and educators from all over the world, they will gather together in Taipei in the end of July! Don't miss it!
