Zach Owens

Mr. Owens' percussion instruction and performance experience spans more than 15 years. Born in Newburgh, New York, he attended Butler University and New Mexico his instructors have included Gordon Stout, Thom Hannum Cadets of Bergen County, Tim Adams, keith aleo, beth raddock, Neil Rutland and Craig Hetrick also Master Classes and performances with Keiko Abe and Evelyn Glennie, Bobatunde Altunji; he is also an alumni of the Interlochen School of the Arts in Michigan. He’s performed with jazz greats Winton Marsalis, Joshua Redmon, Bob Mintzer an others. He’s an avid percussionist and Vic Firth sponsored Marching Percussion Specialist and USSBA Adjudicator. He has taught at schools had programs in New Mexico, Indiana, Florida, new york and Maryland and has maintained a high level of performance practice. His drumlines and percussion ensembles have never scored lower than third place in class over much of his entire professional career. He is an arranger, composer and instructor of all facets of percussion from Jazz Drums and Marimba to Timpani.
